Mosaic Network

Mosaic and Ventura connect 150 funded programs.

Preschool to You, School Readiness, and Oral and Mental Health are just a few of the names that are now reporting electronically to Ventura County thanks to Mosaic's GEMS software. First 5 Ventura County Commission came to Mosaic looking for a data collection, countywide evaluation system for their First 5 funded partners. Today, 150 funded program staff members use GEMS in Ventura County to make data collection and reporting easier than ever.

"In the last three years, the First 5 Ventura County-funded Neighborhoods for Learning have annually created more than 775 new preschool spaces and more than 1,020 summer-intensive preschool slots."

GEMS users are excited and amazed!

Mosaic received extraordinary feedback from the funded partners before GEMS was even installed. Having always believed data collection and reporting were cumbersome and time consuming tasks, during GEMS training they shared their amazement as to how easy GEMS is to use:

  • 98% said that GEMS was very easy or somewhat easy to navigate and use
  • 99% know exactly how and where to enter their evaluation data
  • 98% said that the library of reports in GEMS was important for them
  • 75% said they would use GEMS to pursue their own evaluation interests

Learn, improve, succeed

Social service agencies are connected by their commitment to children and families—but GEMS got them networked. In fact,First 5 Ventura County is ahead of the curve. With their results-based accountability evaluation plan inside of GEMS, funded programs provide demographic, process and outcomes data that directly address the Commission's Strategic Plan. Using GEMS enables them to spend less time on data collection and evaluation, and spend more time serving families and children.
