Today over 600 government, philanthropic, and similar community based
organizations rely on Mosaic to further community well-being. Our solutions
seamlessly integrate interdisciplinary expertise in the areas of social
science research, evaluation consultation, provider training, and information
technology. This forward thinking approach results in successfully implemented,
effective people-driven and outcomes-based strategies to improve the lives
of children, families and communities.
From our beginning, Mosaic has been involved in community collaborative
activities. Mosaic’s founders met while working together on the
evaluation of a federal Center for Mental Health Services program for
children with emotional and behavioral disorders. This groundbreaking
initiative created one of the early Multiagency Integrated Systems of
Care. For this project, they created a data management system that was
recognized by the Child Development Center at Georgetown University as
the best among more than 70 sites across the country. This early success
led to many other large-scale, data management evaluations using data
from across multiple agencies with complex and integrated reporting requirements.
Mosaic is more than just technology and evaluation. It’s really
about assisting social organizations make the most impact in our communities.
Our staff has years of research and field experience in the areas of early
childhood development, professional training standards, youth mental health
issues, school violence, and a variety of other social issues. We have
the unique experience of having worked with both grant givers as well
as organizations working on the frontlines to invest these funds in helping
communities. Collectively, we’ve published over 300 scientific research
papers on such diverse topics as children’s scorecards, tobacco
ordinances, prevention of school violence, data systems for systems of
care, and analytical database technology.
